Mission Board:

In Tim's words, "I always wanted to have a board, but no one seemed to want to take responsibility of us."

Description of Ministry:

Currently Tim and Roberta work in Mexico. They are involved in a effort to reconcile indigenous Mexican tribal groups with the more educated and civilized streams in the Body of Christ. They visit ethnic sub-cultures living in the midst of a more dominating cultures and teach that people need to seek to understand themselves and accept their own roots and identity, so that in their own confidence and self-identity they can accept others. They do this with a team of  nationals who seek to convey their identity through the use of drama, singing, other forms of music, and inspirational messages of hope. They travel around the country through the villages and cities bring this message of reconciliation.  They are healing roots, and visit many historic places where gross injustice and bloodshed took place.  They see their group as INTERCESSORS.

How to be involved:

Please pray for safety on the road as the Rovenstines travel throughout Mexico. Pray for healing to come to the indigenous tribes of  Mexico and a reconciliation with the other classes of people. Pray for Tim and Roberta's health and the overall growth of the Mexican church.

Association with Outreach:

I crossed the Rio Grande, with my guide/interpreter, Dean Kerns, and his small family on Aug 22nd, 1968.

Home Town:

Home town in the U.S.:

Tim and Roberta consider Outreach Center to be their home church.  They also have strong connections with Jeff Newman and the Vineyard Church of Austin, TX. All this aside Tim and Roberta feel that their true loyalties lie with the church of Mexico, where Tim is an active participant with the local pastors who meet in the state capital of Toluca as well as being involved with a conglomeration of over 133 churches in Mexico, directed by Abraham Frausto.
